Wendell & Wild (2022)

I feel like i haven't watched an animation in a minute and im a sucker for Claymation and Stop motion so this was a perfect watch. legally i have to talk about visuals. They were SO COOL. I loved the diversity in the characters and i also liked how the nuns looked like literal like rat people? idk. nuns are already kinda creepy and that just added to the vibe. I am a little biased to this type of animation style. i don't know why it just kinda scratches my brain.

The plot was really interesting. I really liked how quickly the plot progressed. It just really helped to keep me invested the whole time. usually im a little hesitant to watch horror/comedy movies because sometimes they lean too much into the comedy side or too much into the horror side and i feel like i was lied to. But this movie portrayed it really well.  The storyline of Kat was more serious while Wendell and Wilds storyline was much more comedical. It was nice to jump back and forth between the two. I think the main thing that i like about this movie is the absurdity of it all. the fact that the hair cream is what brings things back to life. like cmon HAIR CREAM??? what drugs were the writers on frfr. but i loved it. i love stuff that isn't fantasy but is just so outlandish and absurd that its dancing on the line of fantasy and realism. idk i love it so much. OH i forgot to mention Raul. I loved how they worked in his trans identity without making it his whole character. I feel like that's a issue a lot with trans representation in media and this movie executed it perfectly.

  1. It's kind of unfathomable that I haven't seen this yet. I feel like this would be so far up my alley.
