Red White and Royal Blue (2023)

I loved this movie. I read the book forever ago which made me a little apprehensive about watching the movie. Because i feel like the movie never gets on teh books level. but i was plenestly surprised. I really thought the casting was so good and the coloring, literally everything down to alex's clothes was perfect. 

Ok. On to the actual movie. I obviously like the very pro-women in politics message, with a woman president and prime minister, and a seemingly all women cabinet. I don't even know what to say about this movie i just really liked it. 

for the actual relationship. I feel like slow burns and forced proximity tropes are hard to make not seem super cringey and unrealistic, but this movie articulated it really well. Alex and Henry really seemed like they hated each other in the beginning. I also like how the whole forbidden romance trope was worked into it. Usually with those the whole resolution is super unrealistic but in this resolution, with the groups of people rallying outside all the palaces in britain, felt like something that could actually happen. Overall i think this movie was super well done and it definitely exceeded my expectations.

Ive heard of this case before. i really like true crime and theres so many youtubers that i watch religiously that have talked about this case but this presented way more information than those videos did. This documentary did an amazing job at breaking down every little detail of the case. I also really enjoyed the insight that i gained into the police investigation system and how they go about investigating a homicide case and all the pieces that go into it.  Cinematically this was pretty good. some of the other True crime documentaries ive seen struggle to make it a movie instead of just an organized combination of evidence but that was not the case with this one. obviously the main driving force of this was the interrogation recordings and the eventual confession but they mixed in some cinematic elements which really helped this feel less like a documentary and more like an actual movie  one thing that this gave that other videos on this case didn't was the specific invest...

Amadeus (1984)

Mr.H told me that this film is like if The Prestige didn't fumble the ending (i liked the ending of the Prestige but whatever.) I can for sure see elements of the Prestige in this film but i think the ending was even more confusing than it. There was no real explanation. I mean i understand the concept that Salieri killed Mozart, but its not really clear to me how he does. Does he work him to death? did he drive him insane with the whole masked guy asking for a funeral song thing? i really dont know. I also dont think this can really be compared to the Prestige. its a movie about revenge for sure, there are elements reflected in both films but the one sidedness of the revenge in this film is a major disconnect for me. No Hard Feelings (2023)

Ok. To get this out of the way. I don't love Comedies. movies that are trying to be funny aren't super funny to me.  Anyways. this movie was pretty good first things first. Age Gap? HORRENDOUS. 32 AND 19???? WHAT DO YOU MEAN??? i dont care if the relationship is supposed to be fake. The whole point of the movie is she gets hired to date Percy and she gets the car when she has sex with him. THAT FEELS GROSS. thats like Leonardo DiCaprio Level. If we put that aside.... I thought the movie was pretty decent. I honestly saw it as more of a coming of age movie than a comedy. Its a huge commentary on the "American Dream" and how in order to have basic necessities (like a car/ house) you have to go to extreme lengths.
