LadyBird (2017)



I love this movie. I love how real it is. As a teenage girl with a mom i RELATE to this SO HARD. like this is for sure an extreme for me but when people fight with their moms or when moms give advice. I Love how this film showed how moms are really just trying their best. like as a viewer you see the mom as the villain but in reality she really is trying to be helpful but she just isnt saying the right thing. 

I love what the Nun said. She said something like "isnt it amazing the connection between love and attention" and then it cuts to the mom nitpicking about LadyBird dragging her feet. it kinda forces the viewer to see that the mom does care about her. 

I think that because christine feels so unseen and disliked by her mom thats why she jumps into  relationships with garbage guys so quickly. I mean she dated a gay guy and then an overpolitical asshole. while on the topic of kyle, this is the only time ive every really found Timothy Chalamet attractive. physically. visually hes a massive jerk. 

The main thing that i dont like is the stereotypical trope where the girl abandons her best friend for the popular group and then they reunite during prom but i think it was done in a nice way 

I did really like the visuals of this movie, the angles were really artistic and the coloring really scratched my brain. I also really wished my room looked like lady birds 

OH AND WHEN THE MOM DROVE AWAY FROM THE AIRPORT AND THEN CAME BACK BUT MISSED HER..... I SOBBED IN 2ND PERIOD

Mr.H told me that this film is like if The Prestige didn't fumble the ending (i liked the ending of the Prestige but whatever.) I can for sure see elements of the Prestige in this film but i think the ending was even more confusing than it. There was no real explanation. I mean i understand the concept that Salieri killed Mozart, but its not really clear to me how he does. Does he work him to death? did he drive him insane with the whole masked guy asking for a funeral song thing? i really dont know. I also dont think this can really be compared to the Prestige. its a movie about revenge for sure, there are elements reflected in both films but the one sidedness of the revenge in this film is a major disconnect for me. The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)

  This movie was recommended to me after i watched Im Thinking of Ending Things and I was a little iffy about that movie but I loved this one. First things first, love cyclical movies. I love how it ended how it began. love it. Also, i loved how the directors portrayed the memories being erased. I feel like in other movies that explore erasing memories, they just sort of fade out. I really liked how in this movie, they ahd the buildings literally fall apart and things like that. It really helped potray the message of these memories were falling away from Joel.      Aside from the main plot i did really like the side story with the doctors doing the erasing. I dont want to spoil it but the twist at the end? *Chefs Kiss*      Ok so within the main plot with Joel and Clementine... I think that Clementine is toxic. Shes not a good partner. Dial M for Murder (1954)

When I first got assigned this movie, I was worried that it would be too scary and that I wouldn't enjoy it. I am really not a fan of horror movies at all. However, this movie was not scary at all. It was really just a murder mystery and kind of a drama and I really liked it. I think that the way that the movie idea is so simple makes it a lot easier to understand and it gives the director so much more opportunity for detail and little easter eggs. I was really invested in this film and I felt genuinely immersed in it. I hated that I knew what was actually happening and I knew that Margot was telling the truth but it seemed like no one believed her. Whenever they said that they had no witnesses I kept thinking that I saw it, like I was somehow in the movie and that I could be used as a witness. I love how wholeheartedly hateable they make Tony.
