The Dark Knight (2008)

I understand why i get yelled at when i tell people i hadnt seen this movie. Its so good.  I think the one thing i will always like about Christopher Nolan films is the coloring of his films. they scratch my brain. they are muted enough to match the tone of the story while still being vibrant and contrasting enough to keep your attention. I literally didnt want to look away from the screen.

Plotwise i liked it. superhero movies just usually arent my jam. dont get me wrong i like superhero movies, but they arent going to be in my top 10 really. This movie really pushed that envelope. its in my top 20 for sure. I really enjoy seeing Bruce grow and get comfortable with being batman. i think i just like how human Batman is. like at the end of the day. hes really just a guy. He has human issues, and copes with them in a (mostly) normal way.

alfred always slays.... thats it for this section. i dont need to say anything else

onto the villains. i find the joker kind of boring. not because the character isnt complex or driving the plot, but just because you know Bruce isnt going to get him. it gets repetitive at a certain point but ill still watch it. then theres two face, who i thought was cool. (sidebar) i havent seen many Batman movies but i still know about the villains, like i know their names, so its cool to see how they came to be. Its jsut really satisfying when the beginning of a villain isnt forced, like i can clearly see the A to B on how 2 face became 2 face  (end of sidebar) i didnt like his character the whole time so its nice to see him finally get some depth. again i like how oddly human the villains are. 2 face is grieving in the same way that bruce did (in a more extreme way obviously) but he is punishing the people who took rachel away from him the same way bruce punished the people that took his parents from him.

Overall i liked this movie. im for sure gonna watch the rest of christian bales batman movies

  1. 1) I love that the colors scratch your brain. 2) There's only one more. I like it, but it's no Dark Knight.
